When there’s a problem, ask a mom!
We’ve all been there – running out the door for school, work, doctor’s visits, friend’s house (usually without a moment to spare), and all of a sudden one of the kids yells “I can’t find my shoe!” So, we search under couches, beds, toy boxes… only to end up stressed, disheveled and late …but hopefully with two matching shoes (that fit)!
I’m Kristin Llamas, working mother of three energetic little girls. And just like a lot of parents, the balance between control and chaos often teeters with the tippy cup. One day, after the morning hunt for my kindergartener’s “other shoe,” I decided that it was time to get serious about organizing the shoe bin. I remember this same battle with my mom and my eight siblings, growing up. Why can’t we ever find our shoes?
Then, I figured it out… every shoe organization system leaves us with the same problem… how do we encourage little pairs to stay paired? Until I realized that the solution is as easy as a snap. Literally! So I attached snaps to every pair of shoes. My daughters loved snapping them and I loved how their shoes always stayed paired (or “peared”). And Wear a Pear shoe snaps were born!
WAP snaps keep shoes snapped together in storage and release for wear for daily life and travel. They are easy enough for 4-year-olds to learn to snap and unsnap before they toss in a basket/closet or even hang on a hook. Then just grab, unsnap, and go!
In addition, every “pear” is color-coded to teach children left and right. With a snap, life on the go is a little easier for parents, caregivers, schools and child play centers! Let’s all stop searching for the pair, and just “wear a pear.”
